LEAN Tool & Die Making

Some progress in 2005

Some of the efforts over the last 12 months:

• We have done considerable work on developing a lean tool and die making process -- in the form of value stream maps of the die design process.
• We are now working on a lean die configuration, i.e., eliminating design and build labor content wherever possible and reducing material and work sublet costs.
• We will return to the die build portion of the business after we make progress on the lean die.
• We are looking for additional active members in the stamping and die making industry to help share our workload.
